Your editors at the Israel Diamond Portal blog are always on the watch (!) for interesting developments in luxury timepieces.
The recently-closed BaselWorld watch and jewelry show saw plenty of new super-luxe watch models make their debut, and one that caught our eye combines luxury with utility.
Graff – the London diamond jewelry house whose owner, Lawrence Graff, is a world-renowned collector of special diamonds – has launched its first diver's watch. The ScubaGraff features a 50-hour power reserve and employs the diamond house's own Graff Calibre 2 movement. The case includes a decompression valve and a 30-minute countdown so the wearer can monitor oxygen levels.
Other new watches from Graff include:
BabyGraff: Diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires in a variety of shapes – including trapeze, trilliant, baguette, and princess cuts – are set in a woman's watch. The dial is set with pave trapeze-cut diamonds and the watch comes with either a gemstone bracelet strap or a coordinated stingray or lizard strap.
BabyGraff One Carat Diamond Watch: A single-row bracelet is crafted form 27 one-carat diamonds and the watch's dial is set with 99 fancy diamonds. The watch contains a total 33 carats of diamonds.
Graff Diamond Swan: A diamond-pave swan sits on a bracelet made from 832 white diamonds designed to mimic the water ripples of a lake. The watch's 900 diamonds weigh a total 54.7 carats.
