Artist Lori Gardner has done exactly that, creating a diamond bathtub. While there are undoubtedly a few billionaires in the world who would be glad to sit down for a soak in a tub made entirely of genuine chunks of carbon, Gardner has aimed her classic-style roll-top tub at consumers of more modest means.

The "diamond bathtub" is actually encrusted with 44,000 crystals (of the non-diamond variety) and customers can order it in the color and design of their choice. But each tub includes one genuine diamond hidden among the crystals.

But let's explore the diamond scrub-a-dub theme a little more in depth, shall we? News outlets were recently abuzz with the news that actress Mila Kunis, who co-stars in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, got her Golden Globes glow on thanks to a diamond and ruby facial.

Yes. You read that right.

Scott Vincent Borba washed Kunis' face (to the tune of $7,000) with his HD Diamond and Ruby Peel (still being tested) which actually contains crushed rubies and diamonds. Borba told InStyle that the gemstone particles provide antioxidants.

Borba called Kunis his "muse" and said she would pre-test his products and give him feedback.

Presumably budget isn't the actress' top concern, but gemstone skin treatments seem to be catching on and can be had for less than four figures. According to lubbockonline.com, Village Hairstyles in Lubbock, Texas, offers a Diamond Microdermabrasion treatment, promoted as gently exfoliating skin using microdermabrasion tips covered in tiny diamonds. The cost? $125 for a single treatment or $100/per for a package of six.
