A recent raid by Mexican soldiers on a safe house believed to belong to the Valencia gang, allies of Mexico's notorious Sinaloa drug cartel, reaffirmed a well known fact – gangsters are living it up with style, even when it comes to their favorite weapons.

During the raid, the soldiers seized an arsenal of gold-plated and diamond-encrusted weapons, including 31 gold and silver-plated hand guns with diamond-inlaid grips, AK-47 and AR-15 assault rifles, which were almost entirely gold-plated, and a gold silencer.

One particularly image-conscious gangster even added rows of gaudy red and green jewels and a Ferrari logo to his gun, for that extra little personal touch.
